We don’t have to go far to discover new places, The Vespa Trip proves that once again with their new scooter tour through Belgium. A micro-adventure on two wheels where you will discover the Flemish polder and beautiful Bruges in one or two days. Make it a mini-vacation and let Belgium surprise you!
The Vespa Trip
You may already know The Vespa Trip from their travels in Italy: scooter tours along the beautiful Amalfi Coast, in beautiful Sicily and in romantic Tuscany. Cool tours of about a week, where you visit the most beautiful places in Italy on a Vespa scooter. But what if you want to stay closer to home or only have a few days to do something fun? They have come up with something fun for that: The Vespa Trip Bruges!
Discover Belgium with friends or family
They have expanded this successful concept, but closer to home. During a trip of one or two days you set out in Belgium and explore the surroundings of Bruges by scooter. From Utrecht you can drive to Bruges within three hours, so the Vespa Trip can perfectly be planned during the weekend. Nice to do during a weekend with friends or family outing!
Sustainable travel
If you like to travel more sustainably, The Vespa Trip Bruges is also a great alternative! You don’t have to board a plane for this trip, which makes your trip a lot more sustainable. Bruges is also easily accessible by train, from Utrecht it is about 3.5 hours travel, so you can also leave the car behind. And those Vespas? They drive completely electric, so that is also a more sustainable alternative.
The routes of The Vespa Trip Bruges
The tour starts in Bruges, where you pick up the scooter and choose whether you go for a round of 50 or 75 kilometers. The 50-kilometre route heads north and takes you via Damme and Knokke, among others, to ‘t Zwin (a protected nature reserve on the border of Flanders and the Netherlands). From there you drive in a loop back to Bruges via all kinds of winding polder roads. During the route of 50 kilometers you will stay in Belgium. If you opt for the 75-kilometer route, you will cross the border and visit the Dutch villages of Cadzand and Sluis in Zeeland before completing the round again via ‘t Zwin, Knokke, Damme and the charming polder roads.
Overnight stay in Bruges
You can drive both routes in one day, so you start and end in Bruges. The Vespa Trip Bruges is basically a day trip, but after a day on the scooter you may not feel like traveling home anymore. So you can book an extra night (or more) in Bruges, so that you can also explore this nice city. The Black Swan Hotel is highly recommended for this!
Practical information
The e-scooters are electric and are 50cc. You can drive these scooters if you have a B driving license. In principle, you are on a scooter with two people and the price is based on that, but if you prefer to ride a scooter alone, you can book a scooter for single use at an additional cost. You pick up the scooter in the morning and from then on you can tour the Belgian landscape all day long. It must be returned by 7 pm at the latest, but from then on you can move into Bruges.
Included and optional to book
During The Vespa Trip Bruges, the rental of a scooter with helmet and lock is included. You will also receive a GPS with the routes and you will receive a road book with all the nice places along the route. Meals are not included, but you can optionally book a picnic basket that goes on the back of your scooter. An overnight stay with breakfast is also optional.
