Are you ready for a different work environment in these fickle times? In Croatia, a special ‘village’ has been opened for digital nomads, near the ancient coastal town of Zadar. Here you can open your laptop cheaply and enjoy a working holiday. Or working hard with a holiday feeling…
No doubt you will get inspiration in The Valley, as this enclave for digital nomads has been called. With a nod to Silicon Valley in California, of course, where many entrepreneurs also work for themselves. More and more freelancers are exchanging their dreary home workplace for a sunny environment that gives you energy.
Due to the doomed coronavirus, the need for a workation is greater than ever, while you can go less far because of all the travel restrictions. ‘Working from home’ is now possible almost everywhere, because you only need an internet connection.
Coworking and wellness
The Valley is a 25-hectare area where digital nomads come together to live, work and meet. You will have access to an exclusive 100 square meter coworking space with super fast WiFi and access to events organized in the village.
During the break you can take a dip in the pool, take a bath in the warm jacuzzi or go for a run in the gym to stay in shape. There is also a restaurant and an extensive program for hard workers in the field of wellness, fitness and mindfulness. Everything to increase your productivity!

‘Work’ is quite cheap
You can stay in a studio, apartment or mobile home. And the good news: staying as a digital nomad in Croatia is extremely affordable. The price for one week starts at €130, so that’s €520 for four weeks. That is significantly cheaper than renting an apartment in any city in Europe. You have to stay there for at least two weeks. The longer you stay there, the cheaper the price.

In a half-hour walk you are in the old town of Zadar, a 3000-year-old city full of cultural heritage. In addition, you can use this workspace to explore the jagged Croatian coast and majestic mountain ranges in the interior. Nearby you will find numerous charming coastal towns, national parks, islands, forests, coves and beaches.
