It’s summer again and time for a trip abroad. Time to relax from the sun, sea and beach. Although the sun shines wonderfully in the Netherlands, enjoying a long journey is not comparable to these days. Are you considering booking a trip in August, but you are not sure where to go to which country? Then I have the perfect solution.
Booking a last minute holiday is usually the best experience, because it is usually spontaneous. To determine your holiday destination in a spontaneous way, I have the perfect tip, what you need is a dart arrow and a large world map. You guessed it… hang the large world map on the wall and throw your dart until you hit a hit. Seventy percent of the world consists of water, so it’s important that you hit the target. I guess nobody wants to travel to a place in the middle of the ocean ;). There are a lot of designs in terms of world maps, but it is important to have a map where all countries are clearly described. The world map must be printed on the correct material, so that the dart remains in it: think of canvas, wood or poster paper. Once set up and you never have to doubt your holiday destination again, this is also a nice way to determine your holiday for future trips. To record all your holiday destinations, it is an idea to mark all the places on the world map by sticking a thumbtack in them.
On to the south of Italy
In this way I went on a weekend trip to the south of Italy this summer, because the dart came right on the ‘football of the boot’, namely the island of Sicily. A small town on the world map, but in reality the largest island in the Mediterranean. The island is 230 km long and 170 km wide and therefore there was plenty to do on the island. It is a place that is very diverse with a distant history, beautiful nature and beautiful beaches. We had started the journey in one of the nicer villages of the island: Cefalù. From the village a breathtaking view of the houses and the mountains in the back and the clear blue water that flows in combination with the red and broken roofs.
West of the island one of the most beautiful theaters (Teatro Greco) in history in Greek style, which later became a Roman theatre. The theater can be visited and is located high on the mountains, from the theater a beautiful view of the stage with the blue sea and nature behind it. Once we arrived in the village we were lucky, because on the same day there was a concert in the amphitheater that we could attend. Furthermore, it is a pleasant village with nice tents where you can shop and have a romantic dinner at local restaurants.
So we were able to book a spontaneous trip to Italy and we visited a place that we would never visit otherwise! This way you will be faced with surprises and experience a new life experience, which adventurous travelers wouldn’t want that?
